Honoring the Lord

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly – Three Years of Blogging

three years of blogging

March marks three years of blogging for me. When I started blogging three years ago, newly wed and newly out of college, I never dreamed that I would still be going three years later. I did not have any plans for this blog other than a creative outlet.

But as I wrote, I kept getting feedback that people enjoyed reading it. People were working through the same struggles that I was and they were encouraged that they were not alone. So I kept writing. And here we are three years later! (Read more here on why I blog)

The Good

My husband is probably the biggest reason that I have kept going. He is the only one who has read all of my posts ever (Except for my grandmas! I know they have read pretty much every post! And I love them for that!). He thinks I am a wonderful writer, even though I completely disagree with that. But he is my constant encouragement to keep writing and I am thankful he is so supportive.

The biggest blessing of blogging has been connecting with people and hearing how the Lord is working in their lives. I have been contacted by people who are working through specific struggles or contemplating what it means to be a Christian. I am so honored that the Lord would use me in a small way to help people think through sin, sanctification, and salvation.

The Bad and the Ugly

I know I have offended people by what I have written or shared. And that has been the hardest part of blogging. I have agonized about writing about controversial topics and I have deleted several posts after hearing that it offended people. But at the same time it has been a good time of learning for me. I have learned how to be more sensitive, how to think through things carefully before I post, but also when to stand up for what I believe in.

Thank YOU

So all that to say, THANK YOU, dear readers. Thank you for coming on this journey with me! Many of you have followed along as I got married, navigated the challenges of the work force, and most recently as I have begun my journey as a mother. I would not have kept going if it were not for you. I am incredibly thankful and blessed that you all read this blog!
